Privacy policy

This policy covers three things: what you send me through this website, what you send me through my forms or messages on Facebook and Instagram, and the business contact details I collect when I contact a business first.

What I collect

Only what you type into the enquiry form: your name, business name, email address, an optional phone number, your town, an optional website address, and whatever you tell me about the project. Nothing else is collected about you by this site.

Why I collect it

To reply to your enquiry, prepare a proposal, and keep a record of what was discussed. I do not sell your details, share them with third parties for marketing, or add you to a mailing list you didn't ask for.

How long I keep it

Enquiries are kept for as long as there's a live conversation and for up to 24 months afterwards, in case you come back. Records relating to paid work are kept for six years for accounting purposes.

If I contacted you first

I research local businesses I think I could help, using public sources such as Google Maps listings, business websites, online directories and Companies House. I keep the business name, its contact details, the name of the owner or manager where it's published, and notes from our conversations.

I use this to contact businesses about my services by phone, visit, letter or, for limited companies only, email or a direct message on social media. My lawful basis is legitimate interests: telling other businesses about a service they might use.

If we don't end up working together, I delete your details within six months of our last contact.

You can ask me to stop at any time by replying 'stop', calling 07840 254936 or emailing joseph@sepmedia.uk. I'll add you to a do-not-contact list so it doesn't happen again. I check phone numbers against the Telephone Preference Service and Corporate TPS before calling.

I use service providers to store and process this information for me: Google (Drive and Sheets), Microsoft (Outlook and OneDrive) and an AI assistant (Anthropic's Claude) that helps me research and draft messages. Some of these providers may store data outside the UK, using the safeguards UK data protection law requires.

Enquiries through Facebook or Instagram

If you fill in one of my forms on Facebook or Instagram, or message me there, Meta passes me the details you enter – usually your name, email address, phone number and your answers. I use them only to reply to your enquiry and prepare a quote, and I keep them the same way as website enquiries.

Cookies

This website does not set advertising or tracking cookies, and there is no analytics profiling of individual visitors. If that changes, this page will be updated and you'll be asked before anything non-essential is set.

Your rights

You can ask to see what I hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. Email joseph@sepmedia.uk and it will be actioned within 30 days. If you're not happy with how I've handled it, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
